The 2024 Chehalis Flying Saucer Party was a blast! As many of you who read this blog regularly know, last weekend (Sept. 13-14, 2024), I was at the Chehalis Flying Saucer Party presenting my book Tin Foil Aliens: How to Fake an Alien Invasion.
The photos in the gallery below are from that weekend.
Here’s a video of my presentation, along with highlights from events that day…
Here’s the information on the people who presented:
Kevin Day, a U.S. Navy veteran will discuss his time aboard the USS Nimitz in 2004 when the ship encountered the now-famous “Tic Tac” shaped object off the California coast. The object was seen in footage recorded by F-18 pilots from the Nimitz and disclosed by the Department of Defense in 2020
Connie Willis, guest host of the radio variety talk show Coast to Coast AM where she has discussed UAP and other paranormal phenomena, will talk about her own experience with the paranormal along with her research and views on disclosure.
Steve Edmiston, a lawyer and indie filmmaker who produced The Maury Island Incident, which chronicled Harold Dahl’s alleged UFO sighting over Puget Sound in 1947 and the first reported encounter with Men in Black, will talk about FBI records exposing how the government shaped current UFO narratives and how Washington spawned the Men in Black.
Charlton “Chuck” Hall, a retired psychotherapist and author, will talk about Tin Foil Aliens, his new book recounting his youthful adventures in the 1970s creating UFO pranks and hoaxes, how it shaped his own hopeful skepticism, and ten ways to identify hoaxes among modern disclosed UFO sightings.
About the 2024 Chehalis Flying Saucer Party
The 2024 Chehalis Flying Saucer Party was bigger and better than ever, with a packed lineup of events and activities that catered to both UFO enthusiasts and families looking for a fun weekend getaway. The festival spanned two days, Friday, September 13, and Saturday, September 14, 2024, featuring a mix of educational talks, film festival screenings, a themed costume contest, and a parade.
UFO Symposium and Speaker Panels
One of the key attractions of the 2024 Chehalis Flying Saucer Party was its UFO symposium, where leading experts in the fields of ufology, paranormal research, and aerospace science gather to discuss the latest developments in UFO sightings, alien encounters, and government disclosures. This year’s theme was Disclosure.
Alien Costume Contest
For those who love to embrace their creative side, the festival’s alien costume contest is always a crowd-pleaser. Participants of all ages came dressed as aliens, UFO pilots, and other cosmic creatures, parading through the streets in their outfits and participating in the costume contest at the karaoke afterparty at McFiler’s Bar and Restaurant. The best-dressed attendees won prizes, and the event was a great opportunity for everyone to let their imaginations run wild.
Film Festival Screenings
Every year there is a film festival screening. This year’s showing was Friday evening at the McFiler’s Chehalis Theater. The film festival consists of features from UFO and film enthusiasts all over the world. You can learn more about this year’s winners and entries by visiting the 2024 Chehalis Flying Saucer Party Facebook group.
Vendors
Another highlight of the 2024 Chehalis Flying Saucer Party is its out-of-this-world vendors. Local artists and creators showcase their works, many of which are inspired by the mysteries of the universe. From UFO-themed art installations to displays on the history of extraterrestrial investigations, these exhibits provide an immersive experience for visitors.
2024 Chehalis Community Spirit
The Chehalis Flying Saucer Party is more than just a festival for UFO enthusiasts—it’s a reflection of the town’s strong sense of community. Local businesses, artists, and volunteers come together each year to host and support the event, ensuring its success. The festival brings a significant economic boost to the area, attracting visitors from across the region who come to enjoy not just the UFO-themed fun but also the charm of Chehalis itself.
The event is also an opportunity for the Chehalis community to celebrate its history and culture, with local food vendors, craftspeople, and musicians contributing to the festivities.
Whether you’re a lifelong believer in UFOs or simply curious about the hype, the 2024 Chehalis Flying Saucer Party is an event that welcomes everyone with open arms. It blends education, entertainment, and community spirit in a way that few other festivals do. With its mix of historical significance, family-friendly activities, and opportunities for learning, the Flying Saucer Party is more than just a celebration of UFOs—it’s a celebration of imagination, creativity, and the unknown.
I’ll definitely be back again next year!
